GRATITUDE JOURNAL 2019 – Jammin January

“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” – William Arthur Ward

I am back with the 2019 edition of my monthly gratitude list. My husband bought me a beautiful gratitude book that I write 3 things I am grateful for everyday. I’ve gone back through that and summarised 6 of the things that really stood out to me to share in this post. If you don’t already keep some sort of gratitude journal start now! It has been scientifically proven that gratitude improves psychological health and lets be honest who doesn’t want to feel happier?

6 things I am grateful for in January 2019…..

☼    Family and Friends – We were blessed to spend the first couple of days in January with our family and friends in North Queensland. Despite being a plane ride (or a long drive) away I am always thankful that we do have the ability to travel and that everyone is always so welcoming. Even though our goodbyes are always sad I know it won’t be long until we see each other again anyway.

☼    Getting creative – I am most definitely NOT an artist nor do I want to be one however I do like creating different home decor items with air dry clay. I finally got around to making a couple of different things in January which I love!

☼    Completion of 36 hours of practical coaching – This was a bittersweet moment. I was SO anxious about starting this part of my course, but the universe had my back and paired me with two incredible ladies that I share such a connection with. Finishing was a huge tick of my list of the things that I needed to do for my course, but I will miss our weekly chats.

☼    Back to school – Okay so this didn’t go as smoothly as I would have hoped initially but I’m relieved that after a week of 20190128_214811080_iOSschooling both my son and daughter have settled back nicely into school. I am loving being able to do the school drop of and pick up as when I was working it wasn’t something, I was able to do. I am so lucky that I can be able to be more involved with these small things this year.

☼    Cooking – I literally never in a million years thought that this would be on my list of gratitude but here we are. I have been really enjoying being able to cook nice healthy dinners for my family without it feeling like a chore and without it being super rushed.

☼    Time – The common theme for my gratitude in January is time. I am SO grateful that my husband supports me having some time off since being made redundant in December to focus on my studying and our children. This time has been a blessing and I feel like I am becoming a revived version of myself.  I am still struggling with not contributing financially to our family (I have never not worked) as I feel guilty but that’s something I am working on.

Thanks for reading and make sure you share your smile with the world today ☮
